Meet Liz

Seattle is such a marvelous area that people are drawn here from around the world.  In a city filled with newcomers, I am proud to be a native.  I love the sound of the rain on a stormy night and a hike in the mountains on a warm summer day.  When time allows, I enjoy getting lost in a good book.

I have been married for more than 30 years and found that it is hard to get this far in life without the support of family, friends, and even some professionals.  We have found that the balance between work and home life to be ever changing as we both pursue our dreams.  Some things we work on together, like home improvement, and some things we take on solo, like the charities we volunteer with.

I have three children who attended school here in Shoreline.  When they were in elementary school, I needed the help of therapists, doctors, and even a neurologist to find the answers that made education a successful proposition for my children.  That process taught me the importance of assembling a talented team of advisers to help make the best decisions for a child.  As they enter adulthood I am proud of the obstacles my children each have overcome and amazed at the directions they are headed.  Parenting them has given me a unique education.  I am sure that your journey thus far has taught you some unique things as well and together we can find solutions to the challenges in your life.
I earned a B.A. in psychology from Seattle Pacific University and in 2012 a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from SPU as well.  As part of the master’s program I completed an 18 month internship at Valley Cities Counseling and Consultation in Auburn where I worked with a diverse array of people.  I also completed a certification in Medical Family Therapy, which included a one year internship in a doctor’s office.  This special training gives me insights into how medical issues impact family functioning.
I am excited to be in private practice and to team with my clients in finding new directions, new solutions, and a future that is worth living into.
